Built in wonderful Art Nouveau-style and opened in 1918, the impressive Gellért hotel shares the building with the world-famous Gellért Spa, located on the Danube riverbanks, at the foot of Gellért Hill. Metro line M4 stops right next to the hotel, at Szent Gellért Tér, while the city center and the business areas are also reachable in a 10-minute walk.
The Panorama Restaurant and the terrace at Hotel Gellért offer superb views over the Danube and Budapest. The restaurant features masterpieces of Hungarian cooking, as well as the finest wines from famous cellars to complement the dining experience.
Béla Berki Jr. and his gypsy band provide entertainment in the evenings. On Sundays a buffet brunch is available with special family discounts.
The Gellért Espresso café offers homemade cakes and pastries served with freshly brewed coffee or tea. On scorching summer afternoons, unique ice-cream sundaes are cool, refreshing and invigorating. Another feature is the terrace, providing a place for relaxation and chat. At tea time guests can enjoy live piano music.

Please be informed that the Gellert Spa from further on is only available for guests for a discounted price during the hotel stay, free entrance is not provided.

The Panorama Restaurant is open from Tuesday till Saturday, from noon to midnight (summer season) and from 19:00 to midnight (winter season). Sunday brunch is served from 12:00 to 15:00. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The Söröző Brasserie is open every day from 12:00 to 23:00. The café is open every day from 09:00 to 20:00.

The hotel is a lovely combination of elegance from the turn of the century and a modern hotel.

Staff exceedingly pleasant and helpful. breakfast was fantastic. location is perfect for going places and seeing everything in the city. Even the view of the Danube and Pest from the front of the building is great. The thermal baths are just wonderful.

I could have used an additional towel since I went to the baths. The bed sagged a bit and was uncomfortable.

A little old fashioned but great value and excellent location

Location was great, easily accessible. Good value for money and breakfast was great quality. Beautiful old building.

There was no mini fridge in room nor coffee making facilities which is normally quite standard. Also TV in room was on the same wall as bed which means you couldn't watch it

Good

All you can eat breakfast really rich and good tasty.

Wall is dirty. Shower cabinet with curtains. And in booking descriptions was it's city wives. But it's like in jail. Doesn't have any channel in that tv. Bed isn't comfortable.

Comfortable, familiar and characterful hotel -m it felt like coming home.

The entrance is like coming home, familiar, warm and welcoming. The location is excellent for travelling around Budapest. Breakfast is very good. The room may be old-fashioned but has everything you need.

Could have more power points in the bedroom.

What was the highlight of Hotel Gellert

Great location, great staff, and excellent spa.

Starting with the service: When I arrived, I was given a room with the best view. The management was brilliant, and very professional. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The Room: Hmm, the room was good, and the space was decent. All the facilities promised were provided. Everything was clean inside, and the room service staff were helpful and quick. Hotel Gellert is situated at a very convenient location, and moving around is very easy. Plenty of options to eat around, and a convenient grocer right across the road for any extra needs. Not to forget, the Gellert Thermal Baths are very easy to access from the hotel and there are staff always there to assist you. Overall, very organised and professional. I found Danubius Hotel Gellert very comfortable and would definitely stay there again.

Firstly, I was offered a free taxi service through booking.com which I tried booking and was later told that I had to pay for this. So I eventually moved on to using the public transport to the Hotel. I think there must have been some discrepancy between Booking.com and the hotel. The hotel clearly mentioned that they do not have any sort of transport to and from the airport, while booking.com mentions free transfers. Please verify this next time, as it could be a chaotic when moving with a large group of friends or colleagues. (Luckily I was alone) Then when I arrived the hotel blocked an amount of money which was more than the rate I had to pay, and they said this was a deposit. Which was not mentioned by Booking.com. I had no other choice, and I had to allow them to block this amount from my card. The heater in the room didn't function well at first, and a technician came swiftly to repair this. The bathrooms must be cleaner, they don't look very well maintained for a 4* hotel. Other than that, everything was good,

We made it memorable

The thermal baths , good views , we liked the feel of the hotel as in the public areas .

The comfort of the bed, we asked for extra pillows three times and nothing appeared, the room was a bit tired
